Our School
Hopping Hill is a vibrant two form entry primary school on the outskirts of Northampton Town in the village of Duston. We have 409 pupils on roll from Reception to Year 6 and a 39 place maintained Nursery. We are a Local Authority PFI School with good links with Duston cluster schools. The school has a very good reputation within the local area and is often over subscribed for Reception, with little availability throughout Years 1 to 6. Hopping Hill is built on firm values that are shared by pupils and staff; we are a forward thinking school with care, guidance and support for everyone at the heart of learning.
Our school is set within the residential area of Duston with a diverse intake from a range of social and economic backgrounds. We have a large field space to the rear of the school and actively promote learning outdoors.
We have a very supportive and active Governing body who play a large part in school life. Our strong and stable staff have a great amount of expertise and value continued professional development in order to offer the best possible opportunities for the children in our school. Our latest OFSTED inspection was March 2019 when we received a ‘Good’ outcome and a very positive report.
Our Reception and Nursery work closely together through a play based learning approach. Our staff are highly skilled and trained to respond to pupils’ interests and guide learning through carefully focused activity and interaction; these settings have been graded as outstanding by OFSTED and frequently share good practice with local schools.
